Assessment Specialists

Our assessment specialists bring over 35 years of experience in evaluating young children.

Meredith Resnick, M.A.

Meredith Resnick, our resident learning specialist, has played an essential role in developing the assessment instruments used by Bright Kids NYC in order to create the most comprehensive evaluation of children prior to tutoring. Meredith is skilled at working with and building rapport with children, drawing upon her many years of experience and education to provide an accurate evaluation of each child’s skill, performance and behavior. In addition to conducting and scoring assessments, Meredith provides support to the Bright Kids staff enabling us to continually improve every aspect of our assessment and tutoring process.

Meredith has been a qualified educator for 12+ years. She graduated Tufts magna cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology. After receiving her Master of Arts in Childhood Education from Columbia University’s prestigious Teacher’s College, Meredith went on to do post-master’s work in special education, inclusion education, and learning disabilities at various institutions including Bank Street College, the University of Michigan, and the Churchill Center. Recently she held a head math teaching position at the Dalton School where she participated in adapting, and implementing a new math curriculum.  In addition, her prior teaching experience included first and third grade positions at the Alexander Robertson School.

Over the last several years Meredith has been a learning and evaluation specialist in her own private practice, focusing on conducting assessments and a multitude of cognitive ability tests for children as young as 3 years old. She is a New York State certified teacher for Pre-K through 6th Grade as well as has a Special Education Certification to teach students with disabilities. Meredith currently balances her time between her private practice and Bright Kids.
